Latest types of iPad 2024

iPad Air 2024

Apple also unveiled the 2024 iPad Air models, now available in two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch. The iPad Air 2024 variants also feature a 12-megapixel landscape-oriented front camera and are now powered by the M2 chipset, with the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models opting for a Liquid Retina display and supporting Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.

Apple Pencil Pro:

Alongside these iPads, Apple has introduced the Apple Pencil Pro stylus with Find My support and a Barrel Roll gyroscope feature, enhancing its functionality, as it is only compatible with the new iPad Air M2 and iPad Pro M4 models.

Unlike the USB-C variant from last year, it retains pressure sensitivity and double-tap tool switching, catering to graphic design and 3D sculpting, as the inclusion of haptic feedback and support for custom interactions, along with Find My integration, improves the user experience and utility.

Apple Magic Keyboard, Smart Folio:

The redesigned Magic Keyboard improves portability and versatility with a thinner, lighter design, while retaining its beloved floating design. It now features a function row for easy access to features like display brightness and volume controls, and features a sleek aluminum palm rest and an expanded trackpad with responsive haptic feedback, with a user experience that parallels that of a MacBook.

It magnetically attaches to the Smart Connector for instant power and data connectivity, and the machined aluminum hinge includes a USB-C port for charging. Additionally, the updated Smart Folio, available in black, white, and denim, offers a magnetic attachment and multiple viewing angles for added flexibility.

It’s also worth noting that the new Final Cut Pro for iPad now supports external projects, allowing users to create and access projects on external storage, eliminating the need to import media to the iPad’s internal storage.

iPad Pro OLED (2024) with M4 SoC:

The latest iPad Pro models feature thinner and lighter designs, with the 11-inch model measuring 5.3mm thick and the 13-inch model measuring 5.1mm thick. The new iPad Pros also feature an Ultra Retina XDR OLED display with up to 1,000 nits of brightness, True Tone support, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

In addition, they also feature a repositioned front-facing camera in landscape mode, and the introduction of the M4 chip in the new OLED iPad Pro models focuses on AI performance improvements, with a new Neural Engine capable of performing 38 trillion operations per second.

Apple claims that the M4 chip delivers desktop-level performance at a fraction of the power.
